Amid the challenging times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when many businesses were forced to close temporarily and service providers had to adapt their strategies to survive, a pressing need for food items emerged within our communities. With regulated access to markets and restrictions on movement, both farmers who suffered losses due to surplus produce with low storage capacity and consumers who faced limited access to essential goods experienced the profound impact of the pandemic.
After engaging in extensive discussions with peers and potential investors, we made a pivotal decision to venture into the agricultural sector. Our goal was clear - to address the critical issues of food security, productivity, high-quality agricultural products, sustainable farming practices, and capacity building in agriculture.
Aligned with our mission to ensure food security by establishing a more robust food ecosystem in South-west Nigeria, Fuente Farm Limited embarked on a journey to expand the agro-commodity value chain of our operations. By adopting an integrated farm approach, we are committed to training, cultivating, producing, processing, packaging, and distributing our farm produce while emphasizing the optimization of the agricultural value chain. This strategic approach enables us to source over 80% of our farm inputs internally, enhancing efficiency and sustainability across our operations.
